Connect VSCode + Cline to Tokatlas
Configure VSCode + Cline with a Tokatlas key, endpoint, and enabled model.
Before You Start
Install VS Code and the Cline extension from its official installation guide.
Prepare a Tokatlas API key and a model enabled for your account. Replace all YOUR_... placeholders. Back up existing settings before merging changes.

Setup
- Open Cline’s settings and choose OpenAI Compatible as the API provider.
- Enter the Base URL from the Connection Settings table above, your Tokatlas API key, and an enabled model ID.
- Set capability and context options to match the model. If Plan and Act use separate providers, configure both.
- Save, open a project, and begin with a request to explain one file.
Compatibility Notes
Select OpenAI Compatible, not the OpenAI subscription sign-in. A model must support the tool format used by your Cline version. Do not enable vision or invent token limits for a text-only model.
Verify and Troubleshoot
- Open a new conversation and send “Reply with OK only”; check that text returns.
- Check Tokatlas usage for a successful request at the same time with the configured model.
- If you need tools, ask the client to list files in a test directory and check that the tool result returns to the conversation.
- If step 1 fails, test the key and model directly using API Basics. If that succeeds, troubleshoot client settings below.

| Tool failure | Model capabilities and client protocol support. |
| Changes ignored | Select the Tokatlas provider/profile, fully quit the client, and reopen it. |
